This safari entails Uganda’s famous National parks like Murchison falls and Kidepo Valley National Parks.
Murchison Falls National Park.
This is one of Uganda’s oldest and Largest national park, it was gazette in 1927 and today this park covers an area of 3840 Square Kilometers and 1483 square miles. It was originally known as Kabalega National park and later renamed after the magnificent falls of Murchison falls which is one of the unique features that the park posses. The park is a home to over 73 animal species with notable big five species such as Elephants, Lions, Leopards and Buffaloes which are all sighted in the northern section of the park. The park has the largest concentration of Ross child Giraffes in the world.
Its also a home to over 400 species of birds including the 23 Albertine endemic species these can mostly be seen from the southern banks of the park in areas of Budongo and Kanio pabid. The park also host a variety of primate species generally the chimps in Budongo forest adjacent to the greater Murchison falls National Park.
Kidepo Valley National Park.
Kidepo valley National Park is one of the finest parks in Africa and located in the north eastern parts of Uganda boarded by South Sudan in the North, Kenya in the East. Kidepo is an interesting wilderness area composed of semi-Arid savanna lands, seasonal rivers and low mountains.
Kidepo is Uganda’s 3rd largest National park after Queen Elizabeth, its a home to over 70 mammal species and it offers an exhilarating experience to view the big cats like Lions, Leopards and other predators like hyenas.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at the Airport.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your guide, briefed about your upcoming journey, and transferred to your lodge. We feel it’s best to stay in Entebbe after your flight, the last thing you don’t want to do after a long flight is going on another long car journey. If you arrive early there are many excursions available, and great places to eat, ask your regional expert for more information.

Day 2: Kampala and Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary
In the morning you will transfer to Uganda’s busy capital, where you will do a short city tour visiting the main sights before grabbing your lunch at one of the many restaurants available. After your lunch, you will transfer to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will check in at your lodge inside the sanctuary itself. Once you are settled you will embark on your rhino tracking. The latest you can begin your rhino tracking is 4.30 pm, which is the best time to do it as the temperature will be cooler and the rhinos are more active at these times.

Day 3: Shoebill Canoe Ride and Murchison
At 6.30 am you will embark on a 3 hour 30 minutes canoe ride to see the amazing Shoebill stork. This ancient creature is one of the most remarkable birds in the world and looks like a relic from primeval times. Zziwa is one of the best places to see these magnificent birds. After returning to your lodge you will set off towards Murchison Falls National Park, stopping on the way for lunch. Drive to the top of the falls and later check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari
Spend the morning on a game drive taking in Murchison’s breathtaking wildlife and scenery, including 4 of the ‘Big 5’, with only a rhino missing. In the afternoon you will embark on a boat cruise to see one of the planet’s great sights, Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile River squeezes through a 7m wide gorge creating the world’s most powerful water flow, creating the trademark rainbow. During this three-hour cruise, you will also get to see the fantastic array of wildlife on the river bank including the Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, waterbucks, warthogs, and a number of beautiful bird species.

Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
Today you will grab a packed lunch and take the long drive north to Kidepo. Although the drive is long, you will be driving through towns and villages, getting a glimpse into Ugandan life in the more remote and wild parts of the country, and as you get closer to Kidepo the scenery is breathtaking.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive & afternoon drive
Kidepo is known as one of Africa’s last remaining wilderness and was recently voted in the top three national parks in the whole of Africa, and it’s easy to see why. It combines unbelievable landscapes with a wide variety of big games, including three big cat species; lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Also, because of its remoteness, you often almost have the park to yourself. In the morning you will go out on a game drive at sunrise which is the best time to see the animals. In the afternoon you will take the drive to the valley itself, which offers excellent views and is one of the few places you can see the ostrich in the whole of Uganda. Alternatively, you can do a nature walk to spot animal tracks and take in your surroundings on foot.

Day 7: Kidepo to Sipi Falls
Today you will take another long drive south to Sipi Falls, one of the most beautiful areas in Uganda. The falls themselves are breathtaking and a great place to swim at the bottom, that is if you don’t mind the cold water. Once you have arrived you will be welcomed with a delicious evening meal, exactly what you need after your long drive.

Day 8: Nature walk and transfer to Jinja
There are several activities you can do at Sipi, whether it’s a walk to the falls, mountain biking, or abseiling down the falls. When you begin to tailor-make your tour we will discuss which option is best for you. In the afternoon you will transfer to Jinja, the adventure capital of East Africa, where your guide will leave you for the next two nights. Your accommodation is fairly budget but offers excellent views of the Nile and has a great atmosphere to it. There is a great menu full of delicious and relatively cheap food.

Day 9: Spend an adventurous day in Jinja
There are so many activities and things to do in Jinja, from grade 5 white water rafting to horse riding, bungee jumping, quad biking, cruises to the source of the Nile, and the list goes on and on. We like to leave this open so that you can decide what you would like to do once you have arrived and see what you feel like, but if you’d like to book in advance then we can discuss your options with you before travel.

Day 10: Transfer back to Entebbe
Today, your guide will return to pick you up and transfer you to the airport. If your flight is later in the evening, then it is possible to squeeze in an extra activity in Jinja.
