The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one of Uganda’s top national parks, and a True vine safari offers you a visit there. It is 510 kilometers from the heart of Kampala in southwestern Uganda.

The park is home to half of the endangered mountain gorilla species population and boasts high biodiversity, earning it recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, dating back more than 25,000 years, and home to around 400 different plant species protects the mist-covered mountains.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Gorilla highland (Bwindi Impenetrable National Park)

After breakfast, prepare for the long scenic drive (8 – 9 hours) toward southwestern Uganda. Although this may seem quite a long drive, it’s worth it. This takes you through breathtaking countryside, plantations, Ankole long-horned cattle, and stunning hills to Bwindi National Park.

Have a brief stopover at the Equator crossing at Kayabwe for photo shoots then drive to Mbarara town for lunch before proceeding to Bwindi National Park. Overnight stay at your booked lodge. Dinner and overnight at. Buhoma Lodge (Up-Market), Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (Mid-Range) Buhoma community rest camp (Budget)

Day 2: Gorilla trekking  experience Uganda – Bwindi

Start your adventure trek to Bwindi’s mist-covered forests in search of the critically endangered mountain gorilla species. Depending on the gorillas’ movement, this might take any time from 1 to 8 hours.

According to the trekking regulations, if you have a gorilla encounter, you can spend an hour in their front yard. Giving you a chance to take pictures while learning and observing the behaviors of these gentle giants in their natural habitat.

Later, return to the Park Headquarters where you will receive a certificate for mountain gorillas trekking before making your way to the lodge for dinner and the night at Buhoma Lodge (Up-Market), Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (Mid-Range) Buhoma community rest camp (Budget)

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe international airport.

Get up early for breakfast, then check out of the lodge and drive back to Kampala. Take a lunch break in Mbarara and a brief stop to buy souvenirs at the Kayabwe equator crossing. Depending on your flight time, the journey will then continue to Kampala or Entebbe international airport.
