16-Day Ultimate Birding, Wildlife & Primate Safari in Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport very early morning our guide will meet and greet you. Later, you will be transferred  to Mabamba Swamp a Ramsar-listed wetland famous for the Shoebill Stork, one of the world’s most sought-after birds. Other species include the African Jacana, Papyrus Gonolek, Malachite Kingfisher, and more. Start tracking the Shoebill, in the afternoon have your lunch break. You may continue searching for other species of birds listed above. Later, return to your lodge for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we begin our journey to Murchison Falls National Park , stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided Rhino tracking experience. Here, you’ll have the chance to see white rhinos up close, a significant conservation success story. We continue to Murchison Falls via Top of the Falls, then proceed to check in at the lodge.

Wake up for an early morning game drive in the Buligi sector, where we will search for lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, and antelopes. The park is also home to over 450 bird species, including the Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Black-headed Lapwing, and Red-throated Bee-eater. You will take whole day in the park. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, transfer to Budongo Forest for birding adventure where you will be able to see some of the birds like Chocolat e-backed kingfisher, Lemon-billied, Cassin's spinetail, African dwarf kingfisher, Blue-breasted kingfisher, Creatested guineafowl etc. Have your lunch and later, continue to check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Early morning, transfer to Semuliki National Park for a full day birding adventure where you may be able to spot Long-tailed Hawk, Spot-breasted Ibis, Nkulengu Rail, Western bronze-naped pigeon, yellow-throated cuckoo, Black-throated coucal, White-bellied kingfisher and Piping horn-bill. And it is estimated that it is about 441 Bird Species  amongst them are Rwenzori Batis, Rwenzori Night-jar, Regal Sun-bird and Rwenzori Turaco. In the evening, return to your Lodge.

After your relaxed breakfast, go to visit the Historical City called the Amabere Caves. Later visit Fort Portal local market and the King's Palace. Return to your lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.

Have your relaxed breakfast and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. Reach early for lunch. In the afternoon go for Birding around your hotel. Later return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, go to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for birding adventure where you may encounter birds like Papyrus Gonolek, White-spotted Flufftail, Green-breasted Pitta, and more. In the early afternoon, go for your lunch and proceed to the park offices for chimpanzee tracking in  Kibale Forest National Park a home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, and during the trek, you may also see Red Colobus, L'Hoest's Monkeys, and Black-and-White Colobus Monkeys. Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

We leave Kibale for Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife. En route, we stop at the Equator point/crossing for photography. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where you will see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and waterbirds like African Skimmers, Great White Pelicans, and Pink-backed Pelicans. And on a lucky day you may see some cats coming to hunt on the channel. Return to your lodge.

A morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains offers a chance to see lions, buffalos, elephants, warthogs, and numerous antelope species. The birdlife is rich, with species such as Martial Eagle, Grey Crowned Crane, and African Hoopoe. Go for your lunch at the lodge. After Lunch you may freshen up and later in the evening, go birding around the lodge.

After a relaxed breakfast, check out for Ishasha Sector famous for its tree-climbing lions often spotted resting in fig trees. Proceed to your hotel for lunch break. After lunch check in your lodge. and in the late afternoon go birding around your lodge.

After your early breakfast, checkout for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Along the way, enjoy the scenery of the rolling hills. Reach early for your lunch after checkin your lodge and prepare for the evening birding around the community. Return to your lodge.

Today is a highlight of the safari – Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi! After a briefing, we embark on a thrilling trek to meet a habituated gorilla family in their natural habitat. The encounter with these gentle giants is unforgettable. In the afternoon, we go for a nature walk where you may encounter  Albertine Rift endemics, including the Grauer’s Rush Warbler and Regal Sunbird and many others. Return to your lodge.

Checkout for Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park but a top birding destination. Drive through the cattle corridor and proceed to the park for boat cruise where you will be able to see a number of bird species amongst them are Pied kingfisher, Malachite kingfisher, African Wattled lapwing etc. In the evening go for evening game drive as you continue to check in your hotel.

A morning Nature Walk in Lake Mburo National Park where you like to spot the bird list including; African Finfoot, White-backed Night Heron, and Red-faced Barbet etc. Later, return to your lodge for evening nature walk in the community where you may site cattle eaglets, hadada ibis etc.

After a relaxed breakfast, we drive back to Entebbe via the equator for more equator experience,  make a stopover at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers to see traditional Ugandan craftsmanship. Continue to the Entebbe International Airport for your scheduled flight.
